Nelson Brothers Mourvèdre Cask brings a piece of the Sierra Foothills of California down to Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. Southern grain meets Northern California grapes thanks to this partnership with Withers Winery out of Sonoma County.  Known to appeal to richer wine drinkers, Mourvèdre brings notes of dark plum and cracked peppercorns to every bottle. The bourbon touts notes of cherry cobbler, almond, sweet mint and honey.

In 2006, as Andy and Charlie Nelson drove to the small town of Greenbrier, Tennessee, the two brothers swapped stories they’d heard about a rumoured family whiskey business that was, apparently, situated in this very town. Curiosity got the better of them and before they knew it, they were asking a local historian to see if these rumours were true. The historian, as if on cue, proudly produced two perfectly preserved bottles of Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey that was in fact produced by their great-great-great grandfather. Time stood still and after three years of research, planning and hard work, the Nelsons reformed the business that had closed exactly 100 years earlier in 1909 during Prohibition. With the spirit in their blood, Charlie and Andy followed their hearts, devoting their lives to resurrecting Nelson’s Green Brier Whiskey and producing top-quality product, appreciated by aficionados everywhere.
